Privacy policy

ShortsRank is a website and a browser editor operated by Dylan Yu. The editor’s job is to arrange clips you already have into a vertical countdown and let you download the file. This policy says what the site does with information. It is written for the product as it ships, including the parts that stay off until a key is configured.

Clips and titles

Video files you add in the editor are read by your browser so the preview and the export can draw frames. They are not uploaded to a ShortsRank server, because the site does not offer a media upload endpoint for that job. Closing the tab drops the in-memory files. Object URLs created for playback are revoked when you remove a clip or load a sample.

Titles you type and the series name live in the page while it is open. They are burned into the video you export. They are not sent to us as a project file.

Sample countdowns are drawn in the page. They are not your footage and they are not fetched as video files.

Local storage

The lifetime testing flag is the key shortsrank.plan in localStorage. The value is either absent or lifetime. It stays on that browser until you remove it on the checkout page or clear site data. It is not an account. It is not proof of payment. When Waffo verification exists, a successful restore may set the same key after a check that this page does not perform yet.

Analytics

If PUBLIC_GA_MEASUREMENT_ID is set to a GA4 id, the site loads Google Analytics and calls gtag with IP anonymization enabled. If the variable is empty, the snippet is not rendered and no analytics request is made by this site. Analytics, when on, is for page measurement. Do not put clip titles you consider private into the URL if you can avoid it. The editor accepts a title query so a guide can open a labeled sample; that title can appear in the address bar and, if analytics is on, in a page URL.

Payments

Card data is not collected by ShortsRank. When checkout is connected, the button opens a Waffo-hosted page for the ShortsRank store in a new tab. Waffo’s own policy covers what they do with the payment. We expect to receive, later, a webhook or a success return that identifies that a payment happened. Until that verification is built, the success page does not treat a visit as a purchase.

The restore form asks for an email and then tells you lookup is not connected. It does not transmit the address to a server in this build.

Email you send us

If you write to hello@shortsrank.com, we receive whatever you put in the message, including your address and any attachment you choose to add. Use that channel for support, refunds, and privacy requests. The contact form only opens your mail app. It does not post the message to our server.

Mail forwarding, once DNS is set, delivers that inbox to the founder’s AgentMail destination. The forward is a mail routing choice, not a second product account.

Cookies and similar storage

The plan flag uses localStorage, not a cookie. Google Analytics, if enabled, may set its own cookies. Search-console verification meta tags do not store anything on your machine.

What we do not do

• No advertising network and no AdSense in this version.
• No sale of personal information.
• No account system and no password database.
• No view-count tracking of your published shorts.

Children

ShortsRank is a general creator tool. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child sent us personal information, email hello@shortsrank.com and we will delete the mail we can still find.

Changes

If the editor starts uploading media, or analytics becomes mandatory, this page will change before that behavior ships. The date at the top is the version you are reading.
